Throughout his long and respected career, Mike has thrived in multiple industries, including civil construction, dams, underground and above-ground mines, quarries – but his true passion is the drill and blast industry.

Mike’s unwavering commitment to safety means he maintains a long-standing membership with the International Society of Explosives Engineers Western Canada Chapter (ISEE West) as well as being the chairperson of the Close-Proximity Blasting Committee. The Close-Proximity Blasting Committee established and maintains the Best Practices Guide for Close Proximity Blasting Operations, which has been adopted by municipalities, other blasting contractors, and engineering firms throughout BC.

In the fall of 2023, after over 30 years of ownership and transforming T & A into the leading company that it is today, Mike officially began his well-deserved retirement – but he will always be a part of the T & A family.
